Why oil and not perfume?
Oil naturally blends into the skin, leaving a pleasant scent. Perfumes are usually not based on oil but on various alcohols, and in order to "stick" the scent to the skin, strong substances such as phthalates are used, which are not as beneficial to health as natural oils. When you use a fragrance oil, you are taking care of yourself.
