Aromatic Oil

Would you like to know
about oils used for aromatherapy?

Essential oils contain the Essence or the sum of the plant. In fact, every plant has many compounds and substances that are not expressed in an essential oil. Essential oils are produced by extracting and processing different parts of different plants - flowers, fruits, resin, leaves, stems and roots. What these oils have in common is that they contain active compounds (substances) with pleasant odors that we can absorb through our sensitive nervous system. We all know the power of the effect of smell on our nervous system, which affects our mood, memories, emotions, and even our body. I chose combinations of different plant extracts for candles, wonderful massage oils, bath salts, and fragrance oils, according to the special properties of each oil. But sometimes you want something... unique. Like you. I would be happy to prepare products for you according to your request.

If you use the knowledge accumulated in the East and the West (according to your taste and personal experiences) throughout your day - you will harness this wonderful power to your advantage.

And we really need every drop of power we can get...

So - what would you like to know about aromatherapy oils?

On this page I will share the information I have about the possible effects of the oils. I say in advance - this is not the complete information, and there is certainly a lot of new information being researched and discovered, and this is how science progresses - but that has never stopped us from collecting the knowledge and sharing it among ourselves.

You are welcome to wade through the information or dive to a depth that suits you.

Lavender – Lavandula angustifolia & Lavandula officinalis

real Lavandula angustifolia essencial oil

Lavender essential oil is among the most popular and researched in the world. It soothes, softens, and relieves stress – mentally and physically. It is usually recommended especially for women dealing with a lot of stress and strain, with a tendency to anxiety, emotional overload, difficulty falling asleep, menstrual cramps, nerve sensitivity, or chronic pain. I add - it is also recommended even if you "just" like the pleasant smell...

Lavender – Lavandula angustifolia ו-Lavandula officinalis

The origin of the Lavender name -

The name "Lavender"  is derived from the Latin word "lavare" which means to wash. This is a plant from the Lamiaceae family. It is known for its purple flowers and pleasant scent, and is used in perfumery, cosmetics, and also in traditional medicine.

Known physiological effects – mechanisms of action

  1. Central Nervous System (CNS): Linalool and Linalyl acetate penetrate the blood-brain barrier (BBB), bind to GABA-A receptors in the brain > simulate GABA activity > inhibit nerve transmission > reduce anxiety, relaxation, promote sleep. (decrease in beta waves and increase in alpha waves after exposure - an indication of brain relaxation).

  2. Anti-anxiety and depression: According to a meta-analysis (2021), lavender was found to be almost as effective as benzodiazepines in cases of generalized anxiety - without addictive side effects. - Also affects dopamine and serotonin through inhibition of MAO enzymes.

  3. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic: Inhibits COX-2, TNF-α, IL-6 - Relaxes smooth muscles > Relieves PMS, abdominal or uterine pain

  4. Antibacterial and antifungal: Effective against Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, and more.
